The YA Buddy Programme aims to provide young people with the opportunity to experience the mission of the Young Ambassadors in promoting a culture of hospitality through voluntary services. It also helps equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to promote Hong Kong, and to encourage them to join the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme (the Scheme) in the future.
Eligibility
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
- be a Hong Kong resident aged between 15 and 25 on the day of registration;
- be a full-time student at a local secondary school / tertiary institution OR enrolled for study at a high school / tertiary institution outside Hong Kong;
- be nominated by the school principal / teacher OR Young Ambassador;
- be able to communicate confidently in Cantonese, Putonghua and English; and
- have a commitment to serving the community
Service Contents
Participants will take part in the following activities after registration is confirmed until 31 July 2027:
- Promotional activities organised by the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Alumni Association
- Promotional activities organised by the Young Ambassadors
- Training activities on tourism knowledge and service skills
Awards System
- All participants will be issued a participation certificate as an encouragement (contributed at least 30 service hours during the term of service)
- All eligible participants are welcome to apply for the “Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme 2027/28”. Priority will be given to those with good performance and active engagement in the YA Buddy Programme
- The Scheme will record and verify the service hours for the participants

- Applicants should submit a completed online application form
- Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email with the information on registration
